Overview

Styles for the form elements in the Pattern Library are based off the Bootstrap 4.0 styles and classes. Some, but not all, of Bootstrap’s styles and classes have been moved into the Pattern Library.

Be sure to use an appropriate type attribute on all inputs (e.g., email for email address, number for numerical information, or tel for telephone numbers) to take advantage of newer input controls available in modern browsers. Additionally, mobile keyboards may switch to the appropriate keyboard layout based on the input type.
